Tol­hurst – Goth: A Histo­ry (Buch)

Der Mit­be­grün­der und Drum­mer von The Cure, Lol Tol­hurst, hat 2023 eine ‘Geschich­te der Gothic-Bewe­gung’ – im Ori­gi­nal: Goth. A Histo­ry – vor­ge­legt. Das, obwohl er von sich im Nach­wort sagt, er sei kein Histo­ri­ker, er habe das Vor­ha­ben, eine ‘com­pre­hen­si­ve ency­clo­pe­dia’ zu schrei­ben, auf­ge­ge­ben.
Daher ist in mei­ner Wahr­neh­mung ein Groß­teil des Tex­tes eher im Plau­der­stil geschrie­ben, wo ich mir manch­mal doch mehr “ency­clo­pe­dia” gewünscht hät­te.

In die­sem Sin­ne zitiert er auch öfter Dr. Tra­cy Fahey, die er als “Goth histo­ri­an” bezeich­net, greift also auf deren Erkennt­nis­se und Ein­schät­zun­gen zurück. Tol­hurst – Goth: A Histo­ry (Buch) wei­ter­le­sen

Uns­worth – Sea­son of the Witch (Buch)

Cathi Uns­worth beschreibt sich selbst als Goth und hat das Ziel, in ihrem “The Book of Goth” unter­ti­tel­ten Werk die Ent­ste­hung der Gothic-Bewe­gung aus den blei­er­nen Jah­ren der That­cher-Regie­rung zu erklä­ren. In der Buch­be­schrei­bung auf Ama­zon heißt es:
